I had the pleasure of photographing Tom & Karina’s wedding at the Rio Plaza. We had some change of wedding plan because of the heavy rain we had yesterday. Wouldn’t have chosen any best day than this. Perfect weather – I wish we had little more sun. Rio Plaza is a beautiful wedding venue that overlooks the downtown San Antonio river walk. My wedding photo assistant Chris and I chose balcony are for the wedding party photos and bride and groom portrait.
Two cultural traditions were incorporated into the wedding – vVivora de la Mar and El Muerto during reception. vVivora de la Mar, where the bride stand on the chair and have the groom hold the veil while ladies dance around her. El Muerto where the gentlemen will take the groom throw him up in the air. Both of these were traditional rite of passage in their culture.
