San Antonio Family Photographer | Red Tail Golf Course

It’s been raining all week. We had somewhat overacted day for couple of hour and wanted to do quick family portrait session outside. Elinchrom Quadra made me super easy to setup. It was so portable that I can easily carry around. This shot was taken at the Red Tail golf course and I believe it’s the 1st hole. Glass was wet and I used homemade posing blocks so that my clients cloth did not get wet. Simple lighting setup. Just one light with an umbrella on camera light and it was feathered.

Nest shot was taken just with natural light. I was at F3.5 and didn’t have to worry too much about depth of field since everyone in the photo was in-line. I used Nik software to darken and brighten the image (sort of like super fast dodge & burn technique in photoshop).

Inside the restaurant, client wanted to take some group photo. When I got there, it was really dark and limited space was an issue as well. Not the best background but it was probably the best background I can utilize in given environment. Flash was bounced with 1/2 CTO gel.
