I had to an assignment to shoot Dallas Mavericks NBA game day before Sumi & TJ’s Wedding. Took crazy early Saturday morning flight to Portland, pretty much start taking pictures as soon as I arrived. I fly to Portland at least several times a year, usually on night flights but this time was little nervous. I knew I had plenty of time since the ceremony starts at 4 but wanted to get there as soon as I could. As a matter of fact, I got there 20 min early and start taking their wedding photos at 10 AM. We discussed possible outdoor wedding picture locations around Portland area prior to their wedding and pearl district was one of Sumi’s choice. Happy St. Patricks Day. March has been busy month for me shooting lots of basketball games. Here are just a few images from Jose and Maria’s wedding at the Gunther house in San Antonio.
I had the chance to photograph Christian and Jonathan’s incredible wedding photos at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church in San Antonio. I live close to this area (stone oak) but it was my first time to photograph there. When I visited this church before the wedding, I knew I had to bring variety of lenses to capture their wedding photos.
I wasn’t able to come close by during the ceremony so I brought my basketball lens — a canon 300 2. 8 is lens. Shooting far away so that no one can hear shutter sound. It would have been perfect if my second shooter (David) wasn’t there. But he was wearing completely black suit. With 300 2.8 is lens. I can take very tight shots like bride and groom holding hands, kisses, ring exchange wedding photos from far way.
Photographed the wedding of Marlena & Kris this past weekend at the First Unitarian Universalist Church of San Antonio.
I like to use longer lens to capture moments like this. Shot with canon 85 1.2 in available light. Read more
Bridal photos were taken in early April but I had to wait until after the wedding to post pictures on my blog. Now that Kris and Marlena are married, I can show her images here on my blog. It was beautiful day to shoot and bride to be Marlena looked absolutely gorgeous.
Available light wasn’t too good. I ended up using one 580 EX II as a kicker light to shape her body and also light up her face just a little. Bridal photos were shot with Canon 85 1.2 for shallow depth of field. There’s a lot of nice places to photograph bride and groom’s portrait here in San Antonio and Landa Park is by far one of my favorite place to shoot. I really liked to see Marlena’s bridal photos displaced at the reception on a wedding day and comment I was getting from the guest were priceless. Thanks again for having us for wedding photographer~

Darie & Yvonne had a fantastic wedding at the one of the very famous wedding venue in San Antonio Texas — the Marriage island. Couple got ready at the Contessa Hotel by the riverwalk. This place is such a great place for the wedding photographer since getting ready, ceremony, reception, and bride and groom portraits all can be done at the same place.
I photographed Royce & Anita’s engagement session last month and I was so thankful for them to contact me to capture their special day. Royce & Anita’s family knew my name when I showed up (my name is kind of hard to pronounce correctly). I felt very comfortable from the beginning to the end of their wedding.
A beautiful wedding & a beautiful couple, thank you Royce & Anita.
