Covered 2018 CONCACAF women’s soccer group stage matches in Edinburg Texas.
Canada is expected to win every single match being #5 in FIFA’s rankings. The top two teams will advance to the knockout stage in Dallas next week. Pretty excited to watch Jamaica, Costa Rica, and Cuba playing. I set up a soccer goal remote camera just being the net. Panasonic Lumix DC-G9 has 20 fps [AFC] electronic shutter high-speed burst mode. I can shoot 60 fps if I really want. I ended up using 12 fps H burst mode. 20.3 MP is really handy since I have to crop. The shutter release ports on Canon cameras are 3.5mm and I have about 10 of them. Panasonic G9 shutter release ports are 2.5mm. I found one from Pocket Wizard shop – you can order here. Cable does come in 3′ and 1′ foot lengths and luckily they are very affordable. Enough about trigger here’s a couple of shots I got from remotes.
H-E-B Stadium was a soccer-specific venue with fantastic stadium lighting. Most of the shots, I use Canon 200-400 with 1DX. I had such a great time covering women’s soccer and hope to cover more games like this.
